Non-Returned Asset Investigation & Recovery
An asset has not been returned. Once ordinary return efforts have failed, we can investigate what has happened, develop the location picture and help move the case into recovery.
Discuss this instruction ↗For hire, rental, lease, loan and similar cases where ordinary return efforts have already failed, Ghosthawk can establish the documented return position, work to identify who now has the asset and where it may be, verify the circumstances and, where separately authorised, carry out or coordinate a lawful recovery route.
How the instruction develops
Establish the return position. Locate the asset. Recover it where authorised.
The exact method can change as the evidence develops, but the objective, authority and professional phase remain clear. Further work is only added where it would materially advance the instruction.
Confirm the return position
Review the agreement, ownership or title information and communications to establish the documented return position and the authority on which any recovery would rely.
Develop the location
Develop the asset’s current location, possession and relevant circumstances using the enquiries the case actually needs.
Carry out or coordinate recovery
Once entitlement, location and circumstances are sufficiently clear, Ghosthawk can carry out or coordinate the authorised recovery route. This may include client collection, third-party recovery, police liaison or controlled drive-away recovery of an unattended asset where lawful authority, access and the risk assessment allow it.
What you receive
A usable outcome — not just activity.
What the client receives depends on whether the instruction is Phase 1, Phase 2 or both.
Phase 1 findings
A documented position on the return circumstances, current location or possession, relevant connections and what has or has not been established.
Phase 2 recovery outcome
Where separately authorised, recovery action or a coordinated handover route based on the documented authority, location and circumstances.
Accountable case record
A written record of the enquiries, evidence, operational action and final position, including any limitations or reasons recovery could not properly proceed.
Defined scope
Clear scope before work starts.
Ghosthawk agrees what the instruction or authorised phase is intended to establish and the professional effort included before work begins.
Service phases
Two distinct phases which can be instructed separately. Investigation & Location is only needed where the current location or circumstances still need to be established.
Typical standard route where both phases are required: from £650. Where reliable location, entitlement and authority are already established, the Recovery Response can be instructed directly.
Methods that may be relevant
Use only what the instruction needs.
The service is not a checklist of techniques. Methods are selected because they help answer the agreed question, not simply because they are available.
